KANZI® apple and cinnamon gin fiz
INGREDIENTS
Apple syrup
The pretty two-tone skin of a KANZI® apple makes it a delicious garnish for an alcoholic tipple. And it doesn’t get much better than this beautiful KANZI® apple gin fizz. The sweet and tangy taste of KANZI® adds the perfect balance of flavour to the apple syrup. With all our favourite autumnal flavours, it’s the perfect drink to get into the spirit of autumn.
TIP: The dense flesh of a KANZI® apple naturally stays white forlonger,making them the perfect apple to slice up as a garnish.
INSTRUCTIONS
Method
1 - Combine all the apple syrup ingredients into a small saucepan on a low heat.
2 - Place a lid on and allow to simmer for 10 minutes then remove the lid and allow to simmer for a further 5 minutes or until it has reduced by a third and is a syrup consistency.
3 - Drain using a sieve and allow the syrup to cool.
4 - Discard the pulp.
5 - Pour the honey and ground cinnamon onto two separate small plates, and press the rim of 4 glasses into the honey then into the cinnamon to coat the rim.
6 - Add ice to fill 1/3 of each glass and divide the apple syrup between the glasses followed by adding a shot of gin per glass. Add an extra half shot if you prefer a stronger drink.
7 - Add the slices of freshly cut KANZI® apple and fill each glass with soda water.
8 - Serve with a cinnamon stick in the drink and a slice of apple skewered by a bamboo skewer and place across the top of the glass as a garnish.
TIP: slice the KANZI® horizontally for a centre star pattern or slice vertically for a cute apple shape.You can use a toothpick to help balance a slice on top of a glass.
NOTE: This KANZI® apple gin fizz can also be made into a fun and delicious mocktail by simply leaving out the gin
