KANZI® apple chocolate cake

INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease a 20cm (base measurement) round cake pan and line base and side with baking paper. Coarsely grate 1 KANZI® apple. Thinly slice the remaining KANZI® apple.
- Use an electric mixer to beat the sugar, butter and vanilla in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Add flour, almond meal, bicarbonate of soda, cocoa powder and grated KANZI® apple and fold to combine.
- Spoon into the prepared pan and smooth the surface. Arrange KANZI® apple slices over the top, pressing down gently. Bake for 50 mins or until a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean. Set aside for 5 mins before transferring to a plate. Brush the top with jam. Serve warm or at room temperature with cream or yoghurt.
